Since 2023, St Francis Credit Union has been working to identify the risks and opportunities presented by sustainability-related developments. In August 2024, we
published a dedicated sustainability portal on the St Francis Credit Union website, where our sustainability journey and progress will be documented:
https://www.stfranciscu.ie/our-commitment-to-sustainability/
Additionally, in November 2024 we published our inaugural sustainability report, detailing the start of our journey and progress made to date. This report includes data on our carbon emissions, successes from our social programmes, and a look at how sustainable governance is shaping the way we do business.
Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important topic for the credit union as well as our members. The impact of climate change will affect all our lives. And social issues such as diversity and inclusivity will lead to a more equitable world for all. As such, it is vital for the business to respond accordingly. We are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint and improving energy efficiency, as well as prioritising well-being, diversity, and inclusivity within the organisation.
Through our new sustainability portal and ongoing publishing of sustainability reports, we will be transparent in demonstrating progress based on our four pillars of sustainability. Members are invited to follow progress on the St Francis Credit Union Sustainability Portal, read the 2024 Sustainability Report, and engage with the credit union to find out how they can make a difference.
